Who controls the care team
Each care-team workspace has one active Team leader who controls membership and access, while other members contribute within the role and permissions they have been given.

- Open Team, then People & access, to see the current Team leader, members, invitations and each person’s effective access.
- Professionals open the Team page inside the relevant client workspace; authority is separate for every client care team.
The Team leader controls access
Kinovo allows one active Team leader for each care team. The Team leader can invite people, choose their care-team role, change permissions, suspend or remove access, revoke pending invitations and transfer Team leader responsibility.
Kinovo checks this authority again when a change is submitted. Seeing People & access or an invitation does not allow another member to bypass Team leader control.
What participant-controlled means
The workspace is organised around the care subject rather than one provider organisation. The Team leader manages access on behalf of that care team, and invited professionals from different organisations participate in the same care-subject workspace.
Participant-controlled does not mean every person can see or change everything. Membership, permissions and item visibility still determine what each person can do.
Admins and other members
- An Admin can help manage ordinary workspace work such as goals, tasks, documents, Care Protocols and invitations.
- Admin access does not allow somebody to change the Team leader or edit another person’s permissions.
- Professionals, family/supporters and the care subject receive role-based defaults that the Team leader can narrow or expand where the product allows.
- Permission to view an item does not automatically include permission to edit, review, reassign or share it.
Transfer Team leader responsibility
Choose exactly one active member as the new Team leader and confirm the handover in People & access. Kinovo changes the leadership and associated access together, records the change and gives the new Team leader the setup checklist and Team leader tour.
The current Team leader cannot remove, suspend, demote or leave their own membership until responsibility has been transferred. This prevents a care team from being left without somebody able to manage access.
Kinovo’s role
Kinovo provides the workspace controls and enforces current membership, permissions and item visibility through the application and database. The care team remains responsible for choosing appropriate members, sharing only authorised information and reviewing access when somebody’s involvement changes.
Do not share account access
Every person should use their own Kinovo account. Do not share passwords or use another member’s account to avoid an invitation, confidentiality agreement or permission restriction.
