Removing somebody’s access
Removing a member ends their future care-team access immediately while preserving historical attribution and resolving open responsibilities deliberately.
Who this article is for
Team leaders removing a member and care-team members considering leaving a workspace
Where to find it
- Team leaders open Team, People & access, choose the member and select Remove from care team.
- A non-Team-leader can use Leave care team on their own active membership.
Review the impact first
Kinovo loads a responsibility preview before removal. It can include open assigned tasks, work waiting on that person, responses awaiting review, owned goals, meeting roles, assigned documents, message threads, Care Protocols and other open workspace responsibilities.
Choose an active replacement for open responsibilities or deliberately leave them unassigned. Reassignment applies to open work only.
Remove the member
- 1
Open the removal confirmation
Check the member and care team carefully; this is different from merely suspending access.
- 2
Resolve open responsibilities
Choose a replacement or leave the current open responsibilities unassigned for later review.
- 3
Record the reason
Add a short reason for the access change.
- 4
Confirm removal
Type REMOVE and submit. Kinovo rechecks Team leader authority and ends access through the controlled offboarding operation.
What changes immediately
Access ends immediately when the controlled removal completes.
- The membership can no longer open the care-team workspace.
- Future meeting invitations and content notifications tied to that membership stop.
- Selected document and restricted-thread recipient records that are no longer valid are removed.
- Open responsibilities move to the chosen replacement or become unassigned.
- The former member receives an access-ended email when delivery succeeds.
What remains in the care-team history
Shared messages, task activity, comments, documents and completed work keep their historical attribution. Removal does not rewrite the care-team record or delete the person’s Kinovo account.
A file already downloaded to the former member’s device cannot be remotely recalled. Their confidentiality responsibilities continue to matter after access ends.
Team leaders, leaving and pending invitations
- Transfer Team leader responsibility before the current Team leader can be removed or leave.
- A member can leave only their own membership and confirms by typing LEAVE.
- Revoke a pending invitation from Recent invites; removal is for somebody who has already joined.
- Use Suspended when access must be paused without completing the full offboarding flow.
