Using a Care Protocols QR
A printed Care Protocols QR helps an authorised supporter reach the right sign-in and access-request flow quickly. Scanning it never grants access by itself.
Who this article is for
Families, Team leaders, support workers and professionals who use current Care Protocols
Where to find it
- Open Care Protocols, open the actions menu and choose Print Care Protocols QR.
- Team leaders review access requests from the notification that says Care Protocol access requested.
- Team leaders renew, revoke or convert limited readers from Team, then People & access.
What the printed code does
The A4 poster opens a secure Kinovo doorway for the correct care-team workspace. The QR contains a random identifier—not a name, email, diagnosis, protocol, account ID or workspace ID.
A current authorised member signs in and goes to Care Protocols. Somebody without access sees a short request form. Merely scanning the code does not create a request, approve a person or reveal Care Protocol content.
Print and display it carefully
- 1
Download the A4 PDF
Choose Print Care Protocols QR and download the poster. Print it at 100% scale so the code stays large and clear.
- 2
Place it for authorised supporters
Display it only where people currently supporting the person need it. Do not post it publicly or include it in public photos.
- 3
Replace it if needed
The Team leader can regenerate or revoke the code. Old printed copies then stop at a generic unavailable page, while existing approved memberships remain separate.
Request and approval
- A requester signs in with their own Kinovo account and explicitly confirms they currently support the person.
- Kinovo sends the Team leader the requester’s verified account email and available stored profile information so they can make an informed decision.
- Approval is never automatic. A Team leader can approve time-limited Care Protocol reader access, deny the request or block repeated online requests.
- An approved person must accept the confidentiality agreement before any protocol can open.
What a limited reader can access
A Care Protocol reader sees only current protocols allowed by each protocol’s audience setting, files explicitly linked to those visible protocols and any required read acknowledgement. Restricted visibility still applies.
Limited access does not open the dashboard, team directory, goals, tasks, general documents, notes, messages, meetings, invitations, editing or administration. A Team leader must deliberately use the ordinary People & access workflow to convert somebody into a normal care-team member.
Safe-use boundaries
Kinovo is a private coordination workspace. The poster and Care Protocols do not replace emergency instructions, provider incident reporting, clinical records or continuously monitored communication.
For urgent or emergency situations
Follow the person’s established emergency plan and contact the appropriate emergency or provider service. Do not rely on Kinovo to deliver or monitor an urgent message.
Still need help?
Tell Kinovo support what you were trying to do, which page you were on and what happened. Do not include sensitive care information unless support specifically asks for it through an approved channel.
