Understanding task situations
Kinovo describes the same task from the viewer’s point of view, so the label tells you what you personally need to do or wait for next.
Who this article is for
Everybody who can view tasks in a care team
Where to find it
- Task situations appear on dashboard cards, in the Action Centre and in task details.
- Team leaders with whole-team visibility can also use the Team tasks view.
Why two people may see different labels
A task has one underlying response lifecycle, but the useful wording changes with your relationship to it. The assignee needs to know when to respond; the requester needs to know when to review; other permitted viewers need a neutral team update.
When the task is assigned to you
- To do — the task is waiting for your response or action.
- Response submitted — you have responded and the requester now needs to review it.
- Revision requested — the requester needs you to change or add something.
- Completed — the response has been reviewed and the task is finished.
When you assigned the task to somebody else
- Waiting for response — the assigned person has not submitted their response yet.
- Ready for review — a response is waiting for you or another permitted reviewer.
- Waiting for revised response — changes were requested and the task is back with the assigned person.
- Completed — the response was accepted and the task is finished.
When you are following somebody else’s task
- Assigned to [name] — that person currently owns the response.
- Response submitted — awaiting review — the work is with the requester or Team leader.
- Revision requested — [name] responding — the assigned person is revising it.
- Completed — the task has finished.
Visibility is not authority
A Team tasks view can help permitted members understand current ownership, but it does not give every viewer permission to respond, review or edit.
Waiting, blocked and overdue
Waiting and Blocked add context without replacing the response lifecycle. A task can be waiting on an external supplier while still showing who owns the next response. Overdue means its needed-by date has passed; it does not automatically reassign or complete the task.
Self-assigned tasks use a shorter flow: To do, then Completed. They do not require you to submit and approve your own response.
