Accounts and troubleshooting

Notifications and email preferences

Kinovo separates mandatory account and access messages from optional work updates, then applies account choices, care-workspace mutes, thread mutes and role-aware delivery rules.

Who this article is for

Anyone who wants useful Kinovo alerts without unnecessary noise

Where to find it

  • Open Settings, then Notification preferences, to control the three account-level optional delivery choices.
  • Use Client preferences to mute one care workspace, or open a message thread’s actions to mute that thread.

Account-level notification choices

  • Daily summary email — allows eligible digest-style work updates to be collected into the daily summary.
  • Immediate email for directly assigned or action-required work — allows eligible immediate action emails.
  • In-app notifications for relevant workspace activity — allows eligible optional workspace events to appear in Kinovo notifications.

Preferences do not make every event use every channel

Each Kinovo event has its own eligible recipients, urgency, role-aware in-app rule and email rule. Enabling a channel means Kinovo may use it for eligible work; it does not turn every workspace change into an email or notification.

Kinovo suppresses ordinary alerts when the recipient is not active, has not accepted confidentiality, cannot access the linked item or caused the event themselves unless that event explicitly allows a self-notification.

Messages that remain mandatory

Account access, confidentiality and security messages are always delivered through their required channel. Certain access decisions also remain mandatory so a person knows when access has been requested, changed or ended.

Mandatory events take precedence over optional account, client and thread mute settings.

Mute a client or message thread

  • Mute non-essential notifications for this client in Settings → Client preferences to suppress optional events from that care workspace.
  • Mute an individual message thread from its thread actions to suppress optional message activity from that thread.
  • Muting does not remove workspace or thread access. You can still open the content directly.
  • Unmute the same client or thread when those optional updates become useful again.

Use the Notifications page

The bell shows the authoritative unread count and a recent notification list. View all notifications opens a paginated page grouped into Urgent, Needs action and Updates, with All and Unread filters.

Opening a notification uses a protected deep link. If the item has been removed or access has changed, Kinovo explains that it is no longer available instead of widening access. You can also mark one notification—or the notifications currently shown—as read.

Device notifications

Kinovo can send privacy-conscious device alerts for selected important events. Open Settings → Notifications and press Turn on notifications. On iPhone and iPad, first install Kinovo to the Home Screen from Safari. Kinovo never asks for permission until you press the button, does not include sensitive care details in Lock Screen copy, and lets you disable the current device. Kinovo is not an emergency service or continuously monitored channel, and delivery is not guaranteed.

Still need help?

Tell Kinovo support what you were trying to do, which page you were on and what happened. Do not include sensitive care information unless support specifically asks for it through an approved channel.
