Installing Kinovo as a web app

Kinovo can be installed from a supported browser as a progressive web app, giving it an app icon and its own window without an App Store download.

Who this article is for

People who want quicker Kinovo access on a phone, tablet, Windows PC or Mac

Where to find it

  • When available, choose Install Kinovo from the signed-in account menu or Get the Kinovo app on the public website.
  • Kinovo may show a small installation suggestion after account creation or a later dashboard visit; it never needs to interrupt care-team work.

What installing Kinovo means

The installed version is the Kinovo website presented like an app. It can appear on a home screen, desktop, Start menu or Dock and opens in its own window where the browser and operating system support that behaviour.

Kinovo still needs an internet connection for signed-in care-team work. Its service worker caches selected static assets but deliberately does not cache signed-in pages, authentication routes, invitations or document/API responses for offline use.

Chrome and Edge installation

  1. 1

    Open Install Kinovo

Use the Kinovo account-menu or website installation action. If the browser provides its native install prompt, Kinovo opens it.

  2. 2

    Confirm in the browser

Review and accept the browser’s installation confirmation.

  3. 3

    Choose optional shortcuts

On Windows, Edge or Chrome may offer desktop, Start or taskbar shortcuts. The browser and operating system—not Kinovo—control those choices.

Install on iPhone, iPad or Mac

  • iPhone or iPad: open Kinovo in Safari, tap Share, choose Add to Home Screen, turn on Open as Web App and tap Add.
  • If Kinovo is open in another iPhone or iPad browser, the installation guide directs you to Safari.
  • Mac Safari: choose File → Add to Dock, or Share → Add to Dock.

Install on Android

In a current Chrome or Edge browser, use Install Kinovo when the native prompt appears. Otherwise open the browser menu and choose Install app or Add to Home screen.

If the option is temporarily missing, refresh the page and try again shortly. Browser installation criteria and prompts are controlled by the browser.

If the install option is missing

  • The app may already be installed; Kinovo hides its install action in standalone mode.
  • Use the production HTTPS website rather than an embedded or restricted browser.
  • Update the browser and confirm that service workers are allowed.
  • Firefox and unrecognised browsers do not currently receive a Kinovo installation action; use a supported installation route instead.
  • Dismissing the subtle Kinovo suggestion hides it for 30 days, but the account-menu or browser installation option can still be used when available.
